Hello! I'm Santiago. 👋
Born and raised in Mexico, I discovered my love for running during my senior year in Miami – a passion that carried me through five marathons during college in Mexico City, where I studied Interactive Design.
My career took off in Mexico, where I worked as a UI/UX designer at a startup, building the foundation for what would eventually lead me back to the U.S. seven years ago, I joined WEX as the third designer on a small but determined UX team. At the time, we were working to prove the value of design across the company.
Today, that team has grown to 40+ members, including researchers, copywriters, and developers dedicated to our design system. I lead UX for all mobility products at WEX, managing a team of 8+ and overseeing 12 products year-round – with more growth on the horizon.
Outside of my 9-to-5, I co-founded Tiger Mind Labs with my partner Kyle. It's our creative playground – a space where we explore ideas, build apps, and launch products driven by hobbies and curiosity. Through Tiger Mind Labs, we’ve developed projects that blend work with play, constantly learning and experimenting with new concepts that intrigue us.
Whether it’s leading teams, crafting products, or launching side projects, I’m always looking for the next challenge to dive into.
