When developing Hackers Golf, we followed a structured, user-focused process to design and deliver an app that makes golf more fun and engaging. Here’s the step-by-step breakdown:
Understanding the Problem
The project began with in-depth research to understand the challenges golfers face in tracking their game and making the experience more enjoyable. Through surveys and interviews, I identified the need for a playful, intuitive tool that enhances the social and competitive aspects of golf.
Strategic Planning
Collaborating with my team at Tiger Mind Labs, I developed a roadmap to guide the app's creation. This included defining the app's core features—such as game scoring, leaderboards, and social sharing—while ensuring simplicity and accessibility for golfers of all skill levels.
Design and Prototyping
Using Figma, we designed interactive wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes. The focus was on creating a playful, user-friendly interface with clean navigation and vibrant visuals that resonate with golf enthusiasts.
User Testing and Feedback
We conducted usability tests with both novice and experienced golfers to ensure the app met their needs. Feedback helped refine the scoring system, leaderboard functionality, and user flow to make the app intuitive and enjoyable.
Collaborating with Development
Worked closely with my partner to ensure the design vision was faithfully implemented. Regular design reviews and iterative problem-solving helped address challenges and maintain alignment between the design and technical execution.
Launch and Iteration
After the app’s release on the App Store, I monitored user feedback and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Post-launch updates focused on refining features and enhancing the user experience based on real-world usage.
